Registration for Northwest Little League’s Fall 2018 season is now open! Please go to nwlldc.siplay.com to register for Class A, AA, AAA, Majors, and Intermediate divisions. The fees for each division will increase by $25 per player after August 12 and we will close registration for specific divisions on a rolling basis as they reach capacity.
• League age in the fall carries over from the previous spring. If you were a 10 in the spring, you are a 10 in the fall.
• We are altering the registration form this fall. Since we allocated players based on tryout results for the spring ‘18 season, we are having all players aged 9 through 12 register for the kid pitch divisions. The commissioners will place players based on spring placement, predominantly. Players return to their spring ‘18 teams.
• 11-year olds who played in AAA in the fall will be placed in Majors to prepare them for the upcoming spring season.
• Per NWLL policy, all spring 12s play in Intermediate. We do this for several reasons.
o The following spring, the current 12s will play in the Intermediate division (50/70 diamond) and we have found that playing up in the fall eases the transition.
o The fall is traditionally a transitional season in NWLL, and stronger players often play up. This results in younger divisions, overall.
• Players in the kid pitch division range who are new to NWLL will be placed at the discretion of the commissioners.
The Fall 2017 season will begin in early September and will end by early November. Please be sure to register as soon as possible.
2018 Summer Recreational Program
NWLL’s summer recreation program begins Monday, June 18th. Open to boys and girls ages 7-12 the summer program supplements our traditional recreational offerings during the fall and spring seasons, but with distinct emphasis on skill development.
This includes intensive clinics on Monday and Wednesday evenings (except July 4th) centered on improving baseball fundamentals.
In addition, NWLL sponsors intramural games on Friday evenings to provide players the opportunity to utilize their skills in game situations. Here are the details:
•Where: Friendship Park | 45th and Van Ness Streets, NW
•When: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
•Starting: Monday June 18
•Ending: Friday, July 27
The softball program is open to girls ages 8-12 and on a first come first serve basis. We plan to field a 12s team (made up of girls age 12 and 11) and a 10s team (made up of girls age 10 and 9). These teams will play games against other teams in D.C. and participate in clinics focused on skills development. Eight year-old girls are welcome as well, and they will participate in the skills clinic.
Clinics will be held on Sunday afternoons at Friendship Field (45th ST and Van Ness, NW). Games will also be scheduled on Sundays (and may be home or away); times will be announced when the season starts.
The season will begin on September 9 and end on November 4. All participants will receive a Softball jersey and hat. The cost for the clinic and season is $75 with fee waivers available as needed. Please register at nwlldc.org by September 2. Please feel free to pass along this email to other families that may be interested in girls softball.
Should you have any questions about registration, please don’t hesitate to contact the NWLL registrar (email@example.com). For questions about the softball season, please direct them to the commissioner (firstname.lastname@example.org).
